The word sport comes from the verb disport, meaning to enjoy oneself, to have fun. As women, we have been discriminated against in sporting pursuits for many decades, and it is no easy task to make up that lost time. Reclaiming the sporting sphere means a belief in leisure and enjoyment, alongside other physical benefits.
In 2025, we marked the end of one stage in the process of arriving at 50/50. We knew it was a difficult goal to reach, but it is an ongoing challenge which we believe can ultimately be fulfilled in the not-too-distant future.
This conviction has a genuine basis in various aspects:
Participation among young women (aged 20 to 30) has seen spectacular growth over recent years, in running in general, and the B/SS in particular.
Participation in the B/SS by women from some regions, such as Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, is already above 40-45%.
In some Western countries, the goal of equal representation has now been surpassed in 20 km races.

The B/SS is not just a race. It is 20 km full of emotion in front of a committed crowd, with landscapes that keep pushing you further, and an unforgettable finish. The joyful faces of women at the finishing line clearly reflect the fun that lies behind sporting pursuit.

We want a more equally representative B/SS, and know that together we can achieve that.
Because you can do it. And we will help you.
We need your help. Join in the challenge.
